Edward VI Half Sovereign
This coin was struck during the reign on Edward VI and with his portrait but bears the name of Henry VIII.
This half sovereign is probably the oldest we have ever had in stock, and was, like its more modern counterpart, worth 10 shillings at the time it was in circulation.
Obverse
The youthful portrait of Edward VI with sceptre sat on the throne.
Reverse
Crowned shield supported by ithyphallic lion and dragon standing on scrollwork.
