2014 Two Pound Coin - 100th Anniversary of the First World War Outbreak
2014 saw the release of a two pound coin to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. This is the first coin in a five-year series that will take us on a journey from outbreak to armistice.

The Fourth Portrait
The fourth of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank Broadley, FRBS, FSNAD, whose initials IRB appear under the head, as used on all British coins from 1998.

The reverse features the image of British Secretary of War, Lord Kitchener, pointing.
