1983 to 1989 Jersey Parish Gold Pounds
From 1983 to 1989 Jersey issued a series of gold proof pound coins, one for each of the 12 Jersey parishes.
The twelve parishes are St. Martin, St. Ouen, St. Peter, St. Mary, St. Helier, Grouville, St. Saviour, St. Lawrence, St. Brelade, Trinity, St. John and St. Clement.
Jersey's Twelve Parishes
From 1983 to 1989 Jersey issued a set of gold proof pound coins, each featuring the coat of arms of one of its twelve parishes, with a mintage of 300 sets.
Designs
Obverse
The obverse is the same portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as used on British coins of the time, by Arnold Machin, but with a different legend (inscription):
