So, What's Up Doc?
What's wrong with this leaflet?
- The Opening Statement
"The value of gold in 2009 has soared to its highest level EVER. Over $900 per ounce."
This is absolute rubbish. The price of gold went over $1,000 over ounce in March 2008, over a year ago! In fact, it first went over $900 per ounce in January 2008, and has been over $900 for 13 of the past 16 months.
Our advice to Timeless would be "If you don't know what you are talking about, keep your mouth shut". They are either ignorant about gold prices, or are lying to, and trying to deceive or bullshit their potential customers.
- The Prices
Where Timeless have quoted prices, they are not even very high prices, certainly not worth shouting about. In the table below, we show a comparison between their leaflet prices, and our own prices on the day we received their leaflet.
- Advice?
Demonstrating a lack of knowledge, or a lack of honesty, and we don't know which, we would not recommend anybody to take advice from Timeless Jewellery of Lytham.
- A. Holloway
It does not mention the name(s) A & B Holloway in this leaflet, but we did see Timeless Jewellery mentioned in a recent local newspaper advert (see below), which clearly links them together. With claimed 50 years established, you would expect them to have better knowledge.
Price Comparison Table

1839 £5 (mint) | minimum £10,000 PAID! | £20,000
|
Sovereigns | minimum £125 each PAID! | £140

Our Conclusions and Advice
Over more than 40 years in this business, we have seen a stream of similar cash buyers, advertisers, and leafleteers, most of whom pay low prices. We would recommend that any potential seller shops round a little. If you are not satisfied by the price you can get locally, you could always post it or bring it to us, and will almost certainly get a better price than from your local jewellers and dealers.
