South African Gold Rands Proof Sets
Amongst our stock of earlier South African gold coins, we often have proof sets of gold rands. These are in sets of two coins, a 1-rand and a 2-rand coin in each set. Rands are the South African equivalent of a half sovereign, and a 2 rand is the equivalent of a full sovereign.
Unless otherwise stated, these come supplied in a red leather case, but without any certificate, as it was not the habit of the South African Mint to supply certificates at the time.
