Misinformation about Gold Coins
We recently, 27th May 2000, came across a web page which read:-
Austrian 1 & 4 Ducats
- Minted only in 1915
- Very large because of its wafer thin structure
- Low premiums
- 98.67% fine
- Being sold by the largest gold dealer in the US
Austrian 4 Ducat
We don't wish to unfairly criticise other traders, especially those who may be considered as competitors, so we wrote the following e-mail:-
We noticed your web page at
http://www.cloudassoc.com/austrian-ducat.htm
about Austrian 1 and 4 Ducat coins, which reads:-
AUSTRIAN
1 & 4 DUCATS
Minted only in 1915
Very large because of its wafer thin structure
Low premiums
98.67% fine
Being sold by the largest gold dealer in the US
Austrian 4 Ducat
We were wondering:-
-
Are you aware that these coins were not minted in 1915, but almost continuously since?
- If not, how can you pretend to have any expertise about them.?
- If you are aware, then why do you make the misleading and dishonest statement about them?
- Are you a member of any numismatic trade association?
We are very interested to hear your comments.
