eBay Cheats & Copyright Thieves

losegame10 in eBay Copyright Theft
losegame10 of Aylmerton, New South Wales, Australia, stole our Our 1995 Belgian Gold Proof 50 Ecu Obverse & Reverse Photographs to sell his or their own coins on eBay, without our permission, and failed to mention the coin in the photograph was not the coin he owned, if any. Totally dishonest.
Image theft is endemic on eBay, and most sellers appear not to care whether their buyers are deceived.
It looks like he also copied the descriptive text from our page.

High eBay Feedback is No Guarantee of Integrity or Honesty

eBay Copyright Thieves
Many eBay vendors use our coin photographs to sell inferior quality coins on eBay. These eBay members are dishonest and should be avoided.
We believe eBay profits from IP rights infringements (copyright theft), and does so knowingly, only removing infringing items reluctantly, if at all.

What's Wrong?
We invest a great deal of time, effort, and cost into creating some of the best photographic coin and gold bar images on the internet. We strongly object when lazy and dishonest people decide to use them without a by your leave or thanks, doing so in competition with us.
Copyright theft is dishonest. We recommend you avoid doing business with dishonest dealers.
It is always possible, even likely, that sellers who steal photographs do not own a similar coin, and have the intention to totally defraud potential buyers.
The vendor is not only cheating us by stealing our copyright images, he is fraudulently or ignorantly misleading and deceiving all potential buyers. Gaining pecuniary advantage by deception is the definition of fraud.

Price
The seller was asking a starting price of €1 for each of his coin listings.
Even without after eBay's greedy 10% selling fees, and possible PayPal charges, the seller would almost certainly have been much better off selling the coin to us, instead of stealing our photograph.
He does not seem to care whether he gets a good price or not; we wonder why?
Although he listed all four of these on the same day, he spaced them to end on different days. The first item "sold" for €21, even though its gold content was over €480, The second one "sold" for €455, which was also 6% under intrinsic gold content, before any eBay and PayPal charges.

Loser Game?
What with stealing our photographs, selling one coin for only 6% of its gold content, another at 6% under gold, meaning his first two coins sold were an average of only half the gold value, we reckon losegame is an appropriate name for this Charlie, but perhaps losergame would be better. Has he lost the plot?

No Pick Up Available
Whenever we see this, we always wonder why not. If his neighbour wanted to call round and pay him cash, why try to stop him? One obvious reason would be if the coins were stolen or non-existent. As the vendor losegame10 has already stolen our photographs, why not try to sell some non-existent coins?
He would hardly need to worry about security, as the population of Aylmerton is only about 435; you would be more likely to get mugged by sheep.

One Day Sale
Another good indicator of stolen goods. What's the rush?

eBay Guilty of Negligence or Complicity
We will be reporting this example of copyright abuse using our standard Statutory Declaration via the eBay VeRO programme, and wait to see if they chose to action or ignore our report. We look forward to taking legal action against eBay for their negligence and / or complicity if they fail to take down the offending material promptly.
After we reported the first item to end, losegame10 did not bother to cancel or change his other three listings. We have now reported the second item, and are waiting to see what happens next.
