Chevalier D'Or of Philip The Good 1419 - 1467
Otherwise known as a Cavalier D'Or, or gold rider.
These coins were so named because of the obverse design.
Obverse
Mounted horseman, possibly representing the King, riding right, with the inscription:
DEI GRA DUX BURG Z (ET) COMENS FLANDRIE
In Exergue
PLAD or RLAD
Reverse
Coat of arms, shield garnished with dragons.
SIT NOMEM DOMINI BENEDICTUM AMEN = Blessed be the name of the Lord, Amen.
