Gold Krugerrand The Krugerrand: The Original Gold Bullion Coin There are many different ways to own gold, but one of the most popular gold bullion coins is South Africa's Krugerrand. Introduced in 1970, the Krugerrand was the world's first gold bullion coin. It is denominated in ounces of pure gold rather than having a face value. Over the years, more than 54 million Krugerrands have been circulated worldwide. Krugerrands: Designed for Investors The value of Krugerrands (which contain exactly 1 oz., 1/2 oz., 1/4 oz., or 1/10 oz. of pure gold) can easily be determined from the internationally quoted gold price. Krugerrands are durable. They are alloyed with a small amount of copper, making them 22-karat coins - containing 11/12 part 24-karat gold and 1/12 part copper. Copper is a traditional alloy of gold coins used to harden coins, making them hard enough to resist normal scratching and denting - an important feature, as 24 karat coins and bars are more easily damaged and generally require protective packaging. Krugerrands are easy to transport and store. Since the Krugerrand is so well recognized, buying and selling them internationally is exceptionally easy. Krugerrands have always been legal tender coins under South African legislation. They are minted by the South African Mint. As legal tender coins, they do not need to be assayed or melted down upon resale-unlike some cast and minted gold bars. 1978 - 1 oz. South African Krugerrand Strike is sharp with strong eye appeal. These are very beautiful coins and over 30 years old. (actual coin pictured below)

What's Wrong?
We invest a great deal of time, effort, and cost into creating some of the best photographic coin images on the internet. We strongly object when lazy and dishonest people decide to use them without a by your leave or thanks, doing so in competition with us.
Copyright theft is dishonest. We recommend you avoid doing business with dishonest dealers.
This particular eBay seller not only stole our 1975 gold Krugerrand image, he has almost certainly deluded himself that his coin is identical condition to the one in our photograph. It's possible he is ignorant of such fine points as grading, or that his coin may or may not be in mint condition, as implied by the use of our photograph of a selected mint state specimen.
It is always possible, even likely, that sellers who steal photographs do not own a similar, and have the intention to defraud potential buyers.
The vendor is not only cheating us by stealing our copyright images, she is fraudulently or ignorantly misleading and deceiving all potential buyers. Gaining pecuniary advantage by deception is the definition of fraud.
He purports to be trustworthy by claiming "Bid with confidence check my feedback", but omits to say that he is dishonest enough to steal other people's hard work.

Price
The seller is asking got a price of $1,009 US (equivalent to about £620) for this coin, on the 26th June when gold was about $942.50, eBay will make about $20 in fees, possibly plus PayPal fees.
