eBay Copyright Theft
Many eBay sellers, including dealers steal our copyright images, we suspect some of them may also be fraudsters. Does eBay care?

Allgold of Sevenoaks Coins & eBay Copyright Theft
Allgold of Sevenoaks Coins (allgoldcoins) is another dishonest eBay seller who has used our copyright images without permission.

Is eBay Really a Lottery? - Is This Seller To Be Trusted?
Whenever we send copyright infringement notices to eBay, which is a daily occurrence, we include a paragraph warning or alerting them that in our experience, may people who steal our images also steal other things, and that if a vendor uses stolen images, it is likely that he does not own the items he is offering for sale. eBay appear to take no notice of our "good neighbour" advice, and usually allow the seller to relist the same or similar items, sometimes they steal other people's images as well.
In a significant number of cases, although we don't keep count, we notice that a few weeks later, the seller is "no longer a registered user". We never get any feedback or thanks from eBay, but our guess is that the seller has failed to deliver the goods after being paid, buyers have complained to eBay or the police, and his membership has been revoked. Because we don't receive any feedback, we can only guess, and it does seem that eBay goes to great lengths to avoid bad publicity.
In this case, as the dealer is a BNTA member, we should not question the existence of the items being offered, or their provenance.

Power Sellers - Pillars of the eBay Community?
Yet another dishonest eBay PowerSeller.
Feedback 5,921 - 99.9% Positive.
In our growing opinion, it just goes to show, that not only can you not trust eBay sellers, you should be particularly wary of eBay PowerSellers, and do not trust the eBay feedback system, or the PowerSeller symbol.
When we revised this page in August 2009, allgoldcoins had increased its feedback to 5,974; and this was 99.8% positive.

Copyright Theft is Dishonest - Can You Trust This eBay Vendor?
Using other people's copyright images is against eBay's rules, it is illegal, it is dishonest, and it is unethical. Using the hard work of a fellow dealer to sell the same goods in competition with him demonstrates an extremely low standard of ethics. We would not recommend anybody to transact business with this person or company.

Rip-Off Prices
We happened to notice the B.I.N. (Buy It Now) price on this item looked rather expensive to us at £1,995.
At the time of writing this page, we had this set listed on our website at £1,645 - a saving of £350 compared with Allgold. Actually, our price was probably last updated when gold was higher than the current price, so the actual saving may be higher.

Shining Int
We guess that Clive (Allgold Coins) actually copied his images from shining.com

Who probably stole them direct from us along with other images. It's no defence for Allgold, as they have been caught red-handed using our images, regardless of who they stole them from. Looks like we should give Shining Int a free advert also!

Reported to eBay
We reported this item listing to eBay on Friday 27th June 2009, and eBay did remove it, and notified allgoldcoins.
We did expect to get an e-mail or telephone call within days, from Clive, to apologise. So far we have heard nothing, and it's now October 2009.

More to follow...

Allgold of Sevenoaks Website
In October 2009, we also noticed another of our images being used on Allgold's website. It's actually one of our older, and less good, images, which dates back to November 2004. since then, we have re-photographed most of the coins on our websites and replaced them with bigger, better images.

Copyright Thieves on eBay
We already have a page naming and shaming dealers using our images without permission. It's time we did the same for eBay, although if we include them all, this could be a very long page.
