2012 Gold Proof Two Pound Coin
There will be a two pound coin for 2012 to commemorate the handover ceremony of the Olympic Games to the next host, Rio de Janeiro.
The base metal, and silver proof versions of these coins will be issued in August 2012.
Obverse
The obverse features the fourth of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank Broadley, FRBS, FSNAD, whose initials IRB appear under the head, with the inscription:

Reverse
The reverse features two hands meeting, handing over the Olympic relay baton over, with a sweeping flag of the United Kingdom twisting into the Brazilian flag.
The legend (inscription) reads:
