The Manx noble is more commonly associated with the platinum version of the coin, which was one of the first bullion platinum coins to be produced. The gold version is not as common as the platinum version, and we only know of a few years when one ounce gold coins were produced.

2009 One Noble

Design

The reverse design features a viking ship. The reason behind this is that the orginal noble coins were produced back in the 14th centur, under the reign of King Edward III. The design on the original coins shows King Edward III with a ship. The Pobjoy Mint chose the ship to honour the original design.

The obverse shows Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadbent.

Low Mintage

The coin was issued by the Pobjoy Mint on behalf of the Isle of Man and Baird & Co were the sole UK distributor. We have bought some in on the secondary market and are now able to offer them for sale.
