2006 Shorthair Kittens
The 2006 gold crowns from the Isle of Man feature a Three Exotic Shorthair Kittens as their reverse design. These are part of the popular cat series of coins, probably started by the Manx cat originally featured some years ago.

Manx Cat Series
Since the release of the first coin in 1988, the Isle of Man Manx Cat series has become one of the most popular gold bullion series in the world. Each coin has depicted a cat or kitten and 2006 sees the issue of another wonderful coin, this time depicting three beautiful Exotic Shorthair kittens.

Exotic Shorthair Cats
The Exotic Cat was created in the 1950's by crossbreeding Persian Longhair and British Shorthair cats. Exotics have a similar body to the Persian's short, broad frame and characteristic large head. They have a short nose which has a distinct 'break' in it and huge adorable round eyes. The easy going nature of the Exotic allows it to fit into any cat lover's home at any age as they stay playful as adults and bring pleasure for many years. All things considered, the Exotic is a wonderful addition to any family. Adorable to look at, peaceful and a loyal companion, what more could you ask for - the perfect pet.
