French Gold 20 Euro Coins
Brief French History
We give a brief history of France, and of French gold coins on our French Gold Coins page.
2004 Entente Cordiale €20 Coin
In 2004, the French mint, the Monnaie de Paris and the British Royal Mint co-operated to produce coins with a linked theme and shared design. This was to commemorate the centenary of the Entente Cordiale in 1904. Both countries issued these in a number of versions in different metals, but here we are concerned with the gold proof coins. The French issue was the coin featured on this page.
