1992 Gibraltar Christopher Columbus Two Pounds Gold Proof Coin
Produced for Gibraltar by the Pobjoy Mint. This coin was issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. It was also produced in platinum and in silver versions.
The reverse design shows a portrait of Columbus, with one of his ships clearly visible over his right shoulder.
