Germany has recently announce it will issue a pair of special gold coins to celebrate the Euro. There will be a 100 Euro coin containing a half ounce of gold, and a 200 Euro coin containing one ounce of gold. The release date is due for 9th May 2002, European Day. This will complement the "gold last D-mark coin issue in 2001. Pricing will be based on bullion values closer to the issue time, plus a small premium.
