This 22ct gold medallion has been issued by John Pinches to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the parliament of Simon de Montfort.

Simon de Montfort was an Anglo-Norman nobleman and during his rule,he called two famous parliaments. The first stripped the king of unlimited authority and the second included ordinary citizens from the towns. Forces that were loyal to the King killed de Montfort after his rule of just over a year.
