eBay Cheats & Copyright Thieves
theamperor in eBay Copyright Theft
theamperor of United States, stole our Credit Suisse Half Kilo Gold Bar photograph to use on eBay, and used it to try and sell rather unrealistic looking replica good delivery bars. Totally dishonest.

eBay Copyright Thieves
Many eBay vendors use our coin photographs to sell inferior quality coins on eBay. These eBay members are dishonest and should be avoided.
We believe eBay profits from IP rights infringements (copyright theft), and does so knowingly, only removing infringing items reluctantly, if at all.

CREDIT SUISSE (SWITZERLAND) GOLD INGOT REPLICA
CREDIT SUISSE OF SWITZERLAND GOLD INGOT
TRUE SIZE REPLICA
About the gold ingot replica
The shape, dimensions, and markings are exactly the same as the real thing. They are based on what’s commonly known as the, “London Good Delivery Bar” standard. This is a worldwide standard at 200 x 80 x 60mm (8 x 3.125 x 2.375”), these dimensions are always approximate and dependent on the draft angles as used by the individual assayer. If it was real the weight would be 12.5 Kg ~ 400 Troy Ounces. It’s based on the same gold ingot type that’s held in gold reserves and only ever traded by banks and governments. Incidentally...... it’s the same size as the gold ingot that bounced off "Odd Jobs" chest in the film Goldfinger.
This Gold ingot replica has been cast solid in high density polyurethane & acrylic and reproduced faithfully to the assayers unique markings. All the markings “ESSAYEUR FONDEUR” etc., are clear and well defined and, either raised and/or relieved into the ingot face. Labels or transfers have not been used. The integrity of the markings can be verified by taking a look at the "CREDIT SUISSE" website at http://www.creditsuissegold.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/25.jpg
Dimensions: 200 x 80 x 48mm
Weight: 737grams.
Please note... as with the real gold ingot assayer casting process, this replica has also been cast, meaning that the open cast face to the back of the ingot (the unstamped face) will vary slightly in finish and form... And like a real gold ingot they’re not supposed to look like a piece of jewellery, they are supposed to be a representation of a gold ingot in its rough cast state.
Why do large cast ingots of this type have distinctive tapered side walls and casting fret marks.
The graphite moulding box or the smelters master ingot will have been machined using what’s known as a Ball End Slot Drill, this always leaves characteristic stepped flutes on the tapered side walls. These days a CNC machine, (for increased dimensional accuracy) will have been used to machine either the master ingot, or the graphite moulding box.
Whether the old sand casting method or the modern graphite moulding box method has been used the resulting Ingot needs to have tapered side walls. This allows the Ingot to be released from the moulding box. Perpendicular walls would cause the Ingot to bind and stick in the mould. Further to this a foundry man making an ingot impression in the sand with a master ingot needs to create tapered angled side walls also (like a sand castle) as this prevents the sand from collapsing, thus perpendicular walls made in the sand just wouldn’t work.
Today the method for casting gold is to use a series of graphite moulding boxes. The boxes are positioned so that a river of molten gold cascades into each box, in this way the crucible can be discharged completely producing 8 or more ingots in one hit.
A real Gold Ingot, manufactured in a gold assayers factory also has distinctive casting fret marks on all 4 tapered side walls, these casting fret marks are the result of two processes happening simultaneously. Where the molten gold has been poured from the crucible the molten gold spreads progressively up the sides of the mould, fret marks usually form in layers where the molten gold has started to partially solidify. Further to this, the molten gold additionally replicates the Ball End Slot Drill machining marks left behind from the master model profile.
This fretting effect has been faithfully replicated in our CNC machined master model. Additionally, a real Gold Ingot would be left in a relativly (sic) rough cast state; the surface wouldn’t be highly polished, as this would remove fine amounts of the highly valuable gold, hence the term, "as rare as gold dust”. The ingot has a special date of historical note hidden in the ingot registration mark.
Ok.… way too much information.
Possible uses for this Gold Ingot replica
OK, so you do actually own some real gold bullion, and it’s in some large commercial vault in Switzerland. But people don’t know that, so when they see a gold bar on your desk… and they say, “What’s this?” You can continue with… oh it’s just a little something to remind me that I’ve got some gold buried in a Swiss vault. Yes I know… it sounds conceited, and smacks of “god I’m rich” and “boy have I got good taste” n all that.
Though be it a copy, it’s possibly the nearest most of us will ever get to a gold ingot of this type, a type which is reserved for large banks and traded by governments.
Other possible uses:
Ornamental display... though way too good for an IKEA Billy Bookcase.
A jewellers or fashion retail outlets, shop window display, being a true size replica.. many will stop for a closer look.
A movie/TV Prop.
An arty display.
A coffee table conversation piece.
Why buy a Gold Ingot replica when you can buy the real thing?
If it was real it would be worth around £240,555 ($350,416) a liability, even if you can afford to just leave one laying about the house. That said, this replica is quite realistic, so you couldn’t even leave this one on the back seat of your car. Additionally, if it was real it would weigh 12.5 Kilogram’s, drop it on your toe and it’s a trip down to casualty.
What it isn’t & what it is.....
Obviously… it’s not real.
It’s made in the UK, not an import.
It’s not one of thousands… we should know we made it. The design was researched then created using CAD/CAM and CNC technology; each individually made one at a time.
It doesn’t contain harmful paints or chemicals.
It's not a toy, but durable.
It’s not brass, so doesn’t need polishing and why didn’t we make it from Brass so as to imitate Gold? Because it’s a true size replica the weight and cost would prove to be prohibitive, and along with high postage costs no one would buy it.
As it's not gold plated, the ingot surface is relativly (sic) stable and will not peel or crack with age. A conversation piece… (sic) definitely.

What's Wrong?
We invest a great deal of time, effort, and cost into creating some of the best photographic coin and gold bar images on the internet. We strongly object when lazy and dishonest people decide to use them without a by your leave or thanks, doing so in competition with us.
Copyright theft is dishonest. We recommend you avoid doing business with dishonest dealers.
This particular eBay seller not only stole our high quality Credit Suisse Half Kilo Gold Bar Photograph, he used them to try to sell "his" own replica gold bar on eBay. He did not mention to potential buyers that the high quality photographs of the coin were not his own photographs.
It's possible he is ignorant of such fine points, or just plain ignorant.
It is always possible, even likely, that sellers who steal photographs do not own a similar item, and have the intention to totally defraud potential buyers.
The vendor is not only cheating us by stealing our copyright images, he is fraudulently or ignorantly misleading and deceiving all potential buyers. Gaining pecuniary advantage by deception is the definition of fraud.

Price
The seller was asking a starting price of $150.

eBay Guilty of Negligence or Complicity
We will be reporting this example of copyright abuse using our standard Statutory Declaration via the eBay VeRO programme, and wait to see if they chose to action or ignore our report. We look forward to taking legal action against eBay for their negligence and / or complicity if they fail to take down the offending material promptly.
We should probably delay reporting this item until a buyer has sent some money. This may sound cynical of us, but if enough greedy buyers got conned, they might kick up enough fuss, go to the media, and get eBay the publicity it deserves. It is not our job to act as unpaid policemen for eBay.
