melanie_holliday of Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, United Kingdom, stole our 1893 Victoria Jubilee Head Sydney Mint Full Sovereign Obverse & Reverse Photographs to sell her own 1893 Victoria Old Head London Mint Half Sovereign on eBay, without our permission, and failed to mention the coin in the photographs was not the one she owned, if any. Totally dishonest.
Image theft is endemic on eBay, and most sellers appear not to care whether their buyers are deceived.
For a "dealer" to use full sovereign photographs instead of half sovereign photographs, melanie_holliday must either be half blind or half crooked.
Melanie_holliday might have learned something if she had read our website pages from which she stole our pictures.

Many eBay vendors use our coin photographs to sell inferior quality coins on eBay. These eBay members are dishonest and should be avoided.
We believe eBay profits from IP rights infringements (copyright theft), and does so knowingly, only removing infringing items reluctantly, if at all.

The pictures have been re uploaded as an error was made before. I've tried to give as much detail (warts & all) as possible, please remember the coin is only (approx 18-19mm) small. Any imperfections visible when enlarged are very small & minor scratches. There are no cuts or nicks through the edges & imperfections on the picture are emphasised by shadows & the flash.

Error Made
Yes, dear, you got caught out stealing our photographs, and thought everybody was stupid enough not to know.
You were also stupid or ignorant enough to use photos of the wrong coin denomination, despite the fact that our full sovereign photos came from our "Gold Sovereigns" website, which should give you a clue, and you did realise your coin was a half sovereign. You also chose a picture with the wrong head, a jubilee rather than an old head. You probably did not know, and still don't, that both designs were issued in 1893. Our photos are of a near mint condition coin, your own photos show a coin which has obviously been in jewellery, which has damaged it so that it is only worth scrapping, yet you try to convince people that it is in quite good condition. Perhaps you believe it yourself, i.e. are self-delusional. Don't worry, it's quite common.

What's Wrong?
We invest a great deal of time, effort, and cost into creating some of the best photographic coin and gold bar images on the internet. We strongly object when lazy and dishonest people decide to use them without a by your leave or thanks, doing so in competition with us.
Copyright theft is dishonest. We recommend you avoid doing business with dishonest dealers.
It is always possible, even likely, that sellers who steal photographs do not own a similar coin, and have the intention to totally defraud potential buyers.
The vendor is not only cheating us by stealing our copyright images, he is fraudulently or ignorantly misleading and deceiving all potential buyers. Gaining pecuniary advantage by deception is the definition of fraud.
We have shown our own photo's, as stolen by melanie_holliday, and her own photo's. It is fraudulent to try to deceive potential buyers that they would receive our mint condition coin shown, when the reality is vastly different.
Price
The seller was asking a starting price of £0.99. for this item.
Even without after eBay's greedy 10% selling fees, and possible PayPal charges, the seller would almost certainly have been much better off selling the coins to us, instead of stealing our photographs.
eBay Guilty of Negligence or Complicity
We will be reporting this example of copyright abuse using our standard Statutory Declaration via the eBay VeRO programme, and wait to see if they chose to action or ignore our report. We look forward to taking legal action against eBay for their negligence and / or complicity if they fail to take down the offending material promptly.
