Physical Dimensions of Gold Bars
We are frequently asked the physical dimensions of various weights of gold bars, we have provided a brief table showing typical measurements.
Please note that the dimensions of any particular weight of bar of extremely variable. Cast bars tend to be much deeper than stamped (coined) bars, and therefore are usually smaller in length and width.

LGD Bars display the following marks:
Serial number
Refiner's assay stamp
Fineness (purity), to four significant figures
Year of manufacture, in four digits

Although their weight is typically cited as being 400 troy ounces, they can vary between 350 and 430 ounces. the fineness can also vary from 995.0 parts per thousand upwards.
