The LBMA is the trade association that acts as the co-ordinator for activities conducted on behalf of its members and other participants in the London bullion market
Activities
It acts as the principal point of contact between the market and its regulators. Through its staff and its committees, it works to ensure that London continues to meet the evolving needs of the global bullion market.
There are two categories of full membership: market making and ordinary. A third category of membership - Associate - is designed for companies with strong ties to the London bullion market.
A primary function of the Association is its involvement in the promotion of refining standards by maintenance of the London Good Delivery List. Further, it co-ordinates market clearing and vaulting, promotes good trading practices and develops standard documentation.
