What's Wrong?
Gold Silver Investments (Stephen Dick) are using a number of copyright images without permission. We show their Dutch Gold Coins page which clearly uses one of our photographs. Their logo also contains a stolen photogpaph, so it looks like every page on thier website contains at least one stolen picture.
Gold Silver Investments do not appear to be dealers, but an advertising portal directing viewers to advertisers, and sponsors, including eBay.
Gold Silver Investments give the clear impression that they are some kind of expert advice site. As such, we would expect them to by ethical about sourcing their photographs, and not steal them from other websites. Image theft is dishonest. If this site and its owner Stephen Dick cannot be trusted to supply their own images, or get permission, how can they be trusted to give honest, expert, impartial advice.
In fact, we noticed on their "Dutch Guilders and Other Gold Coins Of The Netherlands" page, they have used an "Alt" tag (caption) on our photograph of a Dutch gold medallion as "dutch-guilder", which is somewhat revealing about the authors degree of knowledge or expertise. He could not even be bothered to read our description of the item!
He also states that "Dutch gold bullion coins are unique, rare, and...", which also demonstrates that he does not understand the meaning of the word unique.
He also states "None contain more than .265 Oz of gold though, so these are not pure gold coins." This is a logical non-sequitur, which also demonstrates that he does not know what he is talking about.
Gold Silver Investments (Stephen Dick) show a copyright sign on their pages, apparently claiming ownership of the Intellectual Property Rights of the material contained on those pages. This is misleading and dishonest. We call it copyright theft.

More Dodgy Advice
We quote from their "Finding Gold Coins For Sale" advice page:

Finding Gold Coins For Sale
There has been a craze of late to buy gold coins. Everybody is looking for gold coins for sale, and they are willing to pay exorbitant prices to make it happen. Whereas while the economy was doing good, buying gold was a simple matter, now it is getting rarer and rarer to find at an affordable price. Those who saw this crash coming and quietly converted a portion of their assets to gold bullion are truly profiting right now.
Gold coins are selling for a very high premium, sometimes up to 15% over the gold melt pice. One of the few places you can still make modest gold coin investments for a low premium is on Ebay surprisingly enough. Quite often you can find commodities like this for up to 15% UNDER the spot gold price! Now that is attractive to any investor.
The Gold Krugerrand is one of the more popular gold coins sold on Ebay right now. Older Kruger rand (sic) coins often sell for more than newer ones thanks to their antique value and rarity.
eBay?
If eBay is the answer it must have been a stupid question.
eBay is the world's biggest marketplace for stolen property. Many of the vendors also steal their images, including ours. There are also many fraudulent or misleading listings, and from our experience, when these are reported to eBay, reports do not appear to be taken seriously, and the offending listings and sellers are allowed to continue until enough people get ripped of and bother to complain. eBay do not act pro-actively, only reluctanly and passively. We believe they are happy to collect high revenue from the high proportion of dodgy listings.
We guess that Gold Silver Investments (Stephen Dick) gives this advice because it gets paid by eBay to attract business to its site. This advice is not expert, it is not impartial, it is not ethical. We believe eBay's "pay to feed buyers to us" policy is deeply flawed ethically.
By channelling buyers to eBay, Gold Silver Investments (Stephen Dick) are being paid to channel buyers to our competitors (eBay and its vendors), and doing so using our pictures.
