Chard Fair Deal Policy
We aim and strive to give all our customers a fair deal.
This simple concept embraces a further list of concepts which can help determine what is and what is not fair play.
- Value
We try to price competitively. This does not necessarily mean we will always be the cheapest.
- Descriptions
We try to give reasonably complete, accurate descriptions and information on our web pages, of the items we have an offer, subject to time constraints.
We dislike misleading descriptions such as those typically found on eBay.
We even take the trouble to name and shame a number of "competitors" whose ethical standards are worryingly low.
- Grades
Where we give our opinion of a coin grade, we try to be slightly conservative, especially as most of our sales are conducted by mail (or internet) order.
- Guarantee
We guarantee all our coins as genuine, unless very clearly described otherwise.
- Errors and Omissions
If you spot any errors or omission on our website, please let us know, and we will aim to correct them as soon as possible.
- Approval & Returns
Any numismatic item we sell by mail order is subject to a 7 day return and refund privilege without quibble, although we are always interested to know why, on the rare occasion, a customer is not completely satisfied with their purchase.
Return privilege does not apply to bullion related products.
- Distance Selling Act & Other Legal Rights
We comply with The Distance Selling Act, where applicable, and do not seek to curtail any consumer protection or other legal rights of our customers.
- Competitive Buying Prices
We pay competitive market prices for coins. This makes us very competitive compared with auction houses, whether traditional or online. Read

- Anti Fraud, Anti Theft
We have strong views about fraud, theft, deception, and other similar matters. We always report crimes, attempted or actual.
- Immediate Payment
We normally pay immediately for purchases, including by cheque, cash, or bank transfer.
- Quid Pro Quo
We do expect our customers to reciprocate, and play fair with us. We are highly resistant to any attempt to obtain unfair advantage.
