belledu68 of ilfurth, Alsace, France, stole our 1974 Krugerrand Photographs to use on eBay, and used it to try sell his own base metal imitation coins as real gold coins, and naturally failed to tell buyers they were not the same coins as in the photographs. Totally dishonest.
We also advised eBay that most, if not all, of the same vendor's other listings were fraudulent, and although they removed the two listings using our pictues, they appear to have taken no action on our fraud report, but when did eBay care?

What's Wrong?
We invest a great deal of time, effort, and cost into creating some of the best Photographic coin images on the internet. We strongly object when lazy and dishonest people decide to use them without a by your leave or thanks, doing so in competition with us.
Copyright theft is dishonest. We recommend you avoid doing business with dishonest dealers.
This particular eBay seller not only stole our images of the reverse of a 1974 Krugerrand, he used them to try sell his own coins on eBay, but these were not genuine Krugerrands he was selling, they were cheap nasty base metal imitations. There are thousands of these listed on eBay every day, and a variety of similar crap items.
He did not tell buyers that the photo's were of a real Krugerrand, and the fake garbage he was offering would look nothing like, in fact he states that the photogrpahs have been enlarge to show the fine detail?
Most eBay sellers try to deceive, cheat and bamboozle their customers, and it seems to work.
Depending which figures you use, between 98% and 99% of this eBay vendor's buyers were happy with their purchase of similar garbage. This actually speaks volumes about eBay itself, and a lot of the buyers.
It's possible he is ignorant of such fine points, or just plain ignorant.
It is always possible, even likely, that sellers who steal photographs do not own a similar coin, and have the intention to totally defraud potential buyers.
The vendor is not only cheating us by stealing our copyright images, he is fraudulently or ignorantly misleading and deceiving all potential buyers. Gaining pecuniary advantage by deception is the definition of fraud.
Sadly, many eBay buyers are greedy or stupid, and allow themselves to be conned by sellers like this.
Price
The seller was asking a starting price of £44.99 for each of his coins.
If that's all they sell for, he will be losing money, as we would have paid him more. There would be much more sensible starting prices.
He would probably have got more by selling to us when eBay's new 10% selling fees are taken into account, even ignoring PayPal fees, or spending it, although many eBay buyers do overpay for gold bullion, compared with our own prices for similar or better gold bullion bars.
Similarly, buyers may be better off dealing direct with a proper, well-established, dealer, such as us, and we could offer a better selection!

From what we could see, this member sells multiples lots of merde (shit) as genuine coins. he also steals photographs from other companies including muenzdiscount.de.

We will be reporting this example of copyright abuse using our standard Statutory Declaration via the eBay VeRO programme, and wait to see if they chose to action or ignore our report. We look forward to taking legal action against eBay for their negligence and / or complicity if they fail to take down the offending material promptly.
