2014 Two Pound Coin - 500th Anniversary of Trinity House
2014 saw the release of a two pound coin to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Trinity House. In 1514, Henry VIII granted a Royal Charter to an agency now known as Trinity House. For 500 years, the safety of shipping in the coastal waters of Britain, and the well being of seafarers, have been the prime concerns of Trinity House. The coin features a lighthouse lens, an enduring symbol of safety on the seas.
