2009 Gold Coins

2009 Pricing Information
Because of the significant increases in gold bullion prices during recent years, the prices of most newly released 2009 gold coins will be higher than those of 2007 or 2008.
Some collectors and investors will be unhappy about having to pay more for their new coins, but a more practical approach may be to buy older issues which, in most cases, are still at or below their original issue prices. UK Issues

  • 2009 Sovereigns.
    These will revert to the traditional St. George and Dragon reverse.
  • 2009 Half Sovereigns.
    As for the sovereigns.
  • 2009 Quarter Sovereigns - In Stock Now!
    New size sovereign denomination. Proof and "bullion" versions due for release 17th February 2009.
  • 2009 Crowns
    Two different commemorative designs are being issued:
    • Henry VIII - to commemorates the 500th anniversary of the accession of Henry VIII in 1509
    • Olympic Countdown - the first in the four part series in the countdown to London 2012.
  • £2 Coins
    Two different commemorative designs are being issued:
    • To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth or Charles Darwin in 1808, and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his famous book "The Origin of Species".
    • To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns.
  • 3 Coin Gold Sovereign Proof Set.
    All three of the coins are of the St. George & Dragon design. In stock.
  • 4 Coin Gold Sovereign Proof Set
    Will contain 5 coins this year! To include the new quarter sovereign.
    All five of the coins are of the St. George & Dragon design.

    A good alternative to the proof sovereign. Usually released about August.
  • 2009 Proof Tenth Ounce Britannias.
    Lower priced than the proof half sovereign. Usually released about August.

    World Issues

    2009 Krugerrands
    For the first time since 2000, we have managed to buy a quantity of the current year's new Krugerrands. These should arrive with us around 2nd April 2009, and we are now accepting firm orders.
    2009 Philharmonicas
    We currently have stock of the one ounce gold Philharmonicas, available now to buy online.

    U.S.
    For the third year now the U.S. are issuing two one ounce gold coins, we will have the 2009 Eagles in stock later and also expect the 2009 Buffalos in stock during 2009.

    Australia
    We already have 2009 Australian Gold Nuggets and 2009 Year of the Ox Gold Coins in stock now! As we are now prime distributors for the Perth Mint in Australia we receive our stock of the next years' issues in the Autumn of the previous year. This year we can offer the Australian large bullion coins, gold nuggets in sizes of 2 ounce, 10 ounce, and 1 kilogramme, as well as the 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz and 1/20oz.

    China
    2009 Chinese Gold Pandas all sizes, from 1oz to 1/20oz, we hopefully expected to receive our first delivery in January, but have received supplies in early March

    In the event that the official Royal Mint price is lower than ours, we will refund the difference.
