2008 Gold Sovereigns - St. George & Dragon Design

This year's - 2008 - sovereigns and half sovereigns have the familiar and historic St. George and Dragon reverse, although we still have stocks of the 2007 issue.
Buy now and save pounds per coin compared with the Royal Mint's price of £160 each on the uncirculated "bullion" version.
Changes!
It appears that the reverse dies for sovereigns, half sovereigns, double sovereigns and quintuple sovereigns were remastered and recut in 2007. See our 2007 sovereigns page of our Gold Sovereigns website for more information. The 2008 designs are expected to be similar.
Bullion (Uncirculated) Version
These arrived into stock direct from the Royal Mint on 4th January 2008, and we are now offering competitive prices as usual.
Proof Version In Stock Now
The proof versions arrived in stock a few days late on 13th February 2008...just in time for Valentines Day!
The issue limit is expected to be 12,500 of the proof version.
Advance Orders
As in other recent years, we will be placing a large advance order for both proof and uncirculated sovereigns. We are still accepting orders at advance order prices for a short time.
Issue Limits - Uncirculated Version
For 2005, the issue limit was only 75,000, the lowest bullion sovereign mintage for over 120 years. We expect the issue limit for 2008 to be similar.
