Gold Medallion - 25th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain
The Battle of Britain was an air battle which took place between the fall of France in May 1940 and the cancellation of Operation Sea Lion (the planned invasion of Britain) in October 1940. The British won the battle through a combination of superior tactics, the advantage of fighting on home-ground, greater aircraft production and of course, the bravery and skill of the RAF servicemen and women themselves. If the Battle of Britain had been won by the Germans, it is commonly perceived that they would have successfully invaded and occupied Britain, and causing Churchill to say after the battle that 'Never in the field of Human Conflict had so much been owed by so many to so few'.

Specifications
At the time of writing we had five Metalimport sets in stock, three Battle of Britain sets, a 1963 Kennedy Gold Medallion Set, and some 1966 Desert War Sets that are apparently all the same weight. As the certificates are so ambiguous, stating the overall weight in troy ounces and the alloy as 18ct but no actual gold weights, we decided to check the weights ourselves - every single set was different - and none of them matched the certificates!
We have stated the lowest and highest weights in the table along with the mean average which we will use to buy and sell these sets.
Weights of individual medallions may vary slightly.
